Chocolate Marzipan Slices (Mandul?s Szal?mi ? Hungary)

2 (3 1/2 ounce) tubes almond paste
2 (1 ounce) squares semisweet chocolate, melted and cooled
1/4 cup chopped almonds
Confectioners? sugar

Mix almond paste, chocolate and almonds thoroughly. Knead on surface sprinkled with 1 to 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar until of uniform color and consistency. Shape into 6-inch long roll; roll in confectioners' sugar. Wrap in plastic wrap; refrigerate at least 12 hours

Cut roll into 1/4-inch slices.

Makes about 2 dozen candies.

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 cups sliced fresh strawberries
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 tablespoons strawberry flavored gelatin
  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust

DIRECTIONS

  1. Mix together the sugar, water, gelatin and cornstarch in a medium large saucepan. Boil for one minute. Remove from heat.
  2. Fold in the sliced strawberries, toss until well coated. Pour into the graham cracker crust.
  3. Chill until well set. Serve topped with whipped cream.
