Cornbread

1 cup Amish Friendship Bread Starter
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
2 teaspoons granulated sugar
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups cornmeal
1/4 cup oil
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Liberally grease a 9-inch pan.

Combine starter, eggs, milk, sugar, flour and cornmeal in a large bowl. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer for 2 minutes.

Add oil, baking soda, salt and baking powder. Mix well. Pour in prepared pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 cups sliced fresh strawberries
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 tablespoons strawberry flavored gelatin
  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust

DIRECTIONS

  1. Mix together the sugar, water, gelatin and cornstarch in a medium large saucepan. Boil for one minute. Remove from heat.
  2. Fold in the sliced strawberries, toss until well coated. Pour into the graham cracker crust.
  3. Chill until well set. Serve topped with whipped cream.
